Founded in 1885, The Stanford University is located between San Francisco and San Jose in California and is rated as one of the top institutions in the world in the field of teaching and research. In fact this University has consistently maintained its leadership position in the above areas in the last ten years.

“Leland and Jane Stanford founded the University to "promote the public welfare by exercising an influence on behalf of humanity and civilization." Stanford opened its doors in 1891, and more than a century later, it remains dedicated to finding solutions to the great challenges of the day and to preparing our students for leadership in today's complex world”.

The sheer size and resources of this University are staggering. To name a few in short:

· Over 16,000 students both graduate and undergraduate,

· Located in about 8,000 acres and about 700 major buildings,

· About USD. 17 billion in endowments,

· More than 5,000 research projects with a budget of about USD.1.50 billion,

· 2000 plus faculty members and

About 20 Nobel laureates are members of the Community.

I consider it a great achievement for a student to be enrolled here for education.

To me, it was my good fortune to have been able to walk the premises of this great institution of learning.

Please enjoy the pictures.
