I had earlier uploaded an album of photographs of the Airavateshwara temple built by the Chola King Rajaraja II in the 12th century AD.

This temple which is dedicated to God Shiva is a monument of indescribably beautiful with innumerable intricate architecture in every stone, column, landing, stairs etc. No part of this temple space has been left blank.

There are hundreds of icons of mesmerizing beauty and intricacy, Gods and Goddesses, damsels, men and women, mythological creatures all of which have been architectured painstakingly to perfection.

To photographs all of them and chronicle would take a life time. I have managed to photograph a few to share the beauty of what I saw with you all.

Enjoy the pictures.
