Ancient Arabian Earthen Water Pots
We were told that some Arabs who did not pay their respects to the new Caliph about 600 years ago were exiled. These Arabs travelled in a boats and reached the shores of Pulicat. Infact during the audio visual presentation we were shown an old map of India which shows Pulicat as the only town in Southern India. Such was the importance of this small town. These pots are now with a family and I was fortunate to photograph. The pots are more than 600 years old, still intact and have not lost their ability to keep water cool. We were told that in the case of rain water the water can be stored for a period of one year without any contamination.
