The Atlanta Botanical Garden is a 30 acres botanical garden located in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The park came into existence in 1976 with the aim of to "develop and maintain plant collections for the purposes of display, education, conservation, research and enjoyment." Extremely popular for its flora and fauna and variety of exotic and rare flowers this Botanical Garden attracts thousands of visitors.
A number of promotional activities, social events, major art exhibitions take place in this garden frequently. In 2004, the Atlanta Botanical Garden hosted an exhibition of glass art by Dale Chihuly titled "Chihuly in the Garden". Dale Chihuly is one of the top glass artists based in the USA. It is said that the exhibition ran for about 8 months drawing more than 450,000 visitors. Such is the popularity of Dale Chihuly. I had the opportunity of seeing his work of glass art and infact had posted an album a few years ago.
This time there were exhibits of giant origami art work. It was magnificent and a colourful sight. We also got to see some rare and exotic flowers in full bloom. Incidentally one of the exhibits of Dale Chihuly was there. This is captured in photographs # 8 and 9
Like in Golf course where after the 9th hole one can stop for some food and refreshments so was also a kiosk here midway in our walk serving some exciting cocktails. With a glass of mimosa in hand I continued my walk for more photography.
