The Hindu Temple of Atlanta has been established by a group of like minded people from India. The need for such a temple was thought out somewhere in the early 70s. The temple has been constructed from the donations from the devotees and has been completed in stages. Today it is fully functional temple with two major shrines one for Lord Venkateshwara and the other for Lord Shiva. The entire complex is extremity neat and clean, well maintained and all the activities are performed with a high degree of "Shraddha'.
On the day we were there i.e. Monday, June 20, 2016 there was an elaborate "Abhishekham for Shiva followed by "Arachanas". Surprise of surprises was a live "Nandaswaram" and "Thavil" played by artists who had come from Tamil Nadu and played many kirtanas culminating in Bho Shiva Shambho which was an absolute stunner.
The weather was bright sunny with blue skies and solid white clouds - a photographers delight.
