Bhargavi has been a student of Bharatanatyam, the last 12 years plus and had her Arangetram in the year 1990. Ever since, she has performed widely at the national level.


An excited Bhargavi says, "The most memorable one was at the 'Fete de Pondicherry' at Kamban Kalai Arangam, Pondicherry, organized by the Directorate of Art and Culture, the Government of Pondicherry and the South Zone Cultural Centre, Thanjavur, on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of Indian Independence in 1997. The dignitaries present for this performance included the Governor of Tamil Nadu, the Chief Minister of Pondicherry, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, and the Director, South Zone Cultural Centre, Thanjavur."


Another memorable performance was at the Brihadeeshwarar Temple in Thanjavur, in July this year, says Bhargavi.


The young dancer has also been a recipient of the scholarship for dance from the Centre for Cultural resources & Training, New Delhi and the Bharat Kalachar scholarship for Bharatanatyam.


Bhargavi is an experienced, accomplished and a talented Bharatanatyam dancer. She was trained by the legendary Bharatanatyam Dance Guru – (Late) Ms. K J Sarasa and bears her stamp of excellence, precision, poise and grace in execution of the various complicated steps of this art form.
