Goa - located on the west coast of India and South of Mumbai is popularly known as the Pearl of the Orient and undoubtedly a tourist paradise. More precisely it is on the Konkan coast of India
The very word Goa brings to one's mind the ever green scenic beauty, the windswept atmosphere, a little humidity, sea food, the endless liquor outlets, excellent beaches, friendly people - smiling and fun loving, the Portuguese architecture, the numerous Churches and not to miss the fun, frolic and dancing. I have known many of my friends and those especially from Mumbai packing off to Goa literally at the drop of the hat.
We spent a wonderful week in Goa exploring the beaches, the heritage structures, temples and churches, local sights in the market place and gasoline being sold in one litre water bottles all along the road side and some wonderful Goan food - being vegetarians I must confess that the choice was limited. In all fairness to the hotel, I must add that the hotel and restaurant staff took extraordinary effort and care to ensure that we did not miss the Goan flavour even in the vegetarian fare. It was simply awesome.
Album # 1 pertains to the heritage structures and a few temples.
Enjoy the pictures.
